Fuel Cell Technology

We worked with a UK based Hydrogen Fuel Cell company targeting the deployment of large-scale stationary fuel cell systems.

Our client had on-going projects in Europe worked with Gulf Prospects to develop their relationships & presence in the MENA region and build the project pipeline across relevant sectors.  Using our methodical and disciplined approach helped our client to make informed decisions on potential partners, customers and projects, whilst maintaining tight control on costs and priorities.

Leadership Development

We worked with a UK based Leadership Training Company looking to build on past projects in the GCC.

Gulf Prospects’ role was to identify and evaluate BD opportunities and provide the client with a clear path to bid for and win contracts with major Government and Private Sector customers.

We also evaluated and introduced potential licensing partners in the region to help expand our client’s footprint and capabilities in the region.

In 2011 a US Energy Services firm was looking for growth opportunities in the Middle East and potential investors for its upcoming IPO on the NYSE.  Following discussions with the CEO, it became apparent that the company would benefit from some local expertise and contacts to access the leading investment entities in the UAE.  Through our discreet networking we were able to pinpoint several of the most appropriate organisations and their relevant teams.  Following introductions we brokered with these groups, one became the single largest investor in the IPO, placing more than US $50m in the offering.

The same group also sought to introduce its services to customers in the GCC.  Following consultation with the CEO and Executive Management team in Houston, we proposed an approach to identify potential co-investors in the regional Middle East business.  Focused on individuals and groups who could bring relevant energy sector experience and contacts that might accelerate the identification of opportunities and the subsequent processes, a JV was subsequently agreed for the MENA region.  This in turn led to Agency Agreements being signed with leading business groups in all GCC countries within 12 months.

During this period Gulf Prospects was also able to manage and deliver technical and commercial pre-qualifications with 3 of the world’s largest National Oil Companies and be invited to tender for major long-term contracts.  Subsequently one major contract was negotiated and signed with a major customer in Saudi Arabia.

Gulf Prospects also supported the client in identifying and evaluating potential locations for a regional operations base in the UAE.  Once agreed we played a major role in negotiating the land-lease with the relevant Freezone on a 50,000sqm plot and the development agreement on a 10,000sqm build-to-suit facility.
